Getting Real: The Food/Environment Connection

February 12, 2017 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Free
Cattle Nature Agriculture Cows Countryside Farm

Film, presentation, and discussion

Did you know…
It takes from 2,500 to 6,000 gallons of water to produce one pound of meat? At 2,500 gallons, that’s still 20 times the amount of water needed to grow a pound of wheat! Your food choices affect the environment!

Guest speaker Jeffrey Cohan, Jewish Veg Executive Director, will lead an interactive discussion about the environmental impact of food production, how we can reduce our environmental footprint through food choices, and how this relates to Judaism.

This event is FREE and open to anyone of any faith. If you care about the environment, please come see how the single most important action you can take is to change what you eat. We will also be sampling many delicious vegan foods. You don’t have to choose between fantastic food and the health of the environment!
