Local market manager and founder of Grow Local for the Planet, Fred Yen spends his winter checking out possible new vendors at local winter markets around metro Boston, as well as keeping up-to-date by going to informative conferences in the region. This January he zoomed to the NOFA (Natural Organic Farmers Association) 34th Annual Winter Conference in January 2021 and brought back videos for the members. Here are some videos on soil from that conference that he would like to share with the members.

NOFA was started in 1971 in Vermont and New Hampshire, and later added the Massachusetts, New York and Connecticut chapter in 1982. In 1989 they changed their name to “Northeast Organic Farming Association”. Their mission is through education and advocacy NOFA/Mass promotes organic agriculture to expand the production and availability of nutritious food from living soil for the health of individuals, communities and the planet. Their visions is to NOFA/Mass envisions a commonwealth of people working together to create healthy landscapes that feed our communities and restore our environment.
